For more than twenty years, it has been the mission of Whitaker Center for Science and the Arts to open our doors, welcome guests of all ages and serve as the center for scientific, artistic, cultural and educational activities to enhance the region’s quality of life and economic vitality.

Whitaker Center receives $75K PNC grant for “Grow Up Great.”

The PNC Foundation announced today that the Whitaker Center, as part of PNC Grow Up Great, will receive a $75,000 grant.

The money will help the center to expand access to high-quality STEM programming through field-trips and visits from the Whitaker On Wheels (WOW) van.

A ceremonial ribbon-cutting marked the formal opening of the new East Tower of the Lancaster Marriott at Penn Square. Developers Penn Square Partners and High Real Estate Group, LLC, also celebrated the 10-year anniversary of the opening of the hotel and convention center, as well as the newly refurbished rooms and amenities in the original West Tower. The $39.4 million expansion and refurbishment project adds 117 guestrooms and a signature Marriott M Club Lounge.

High companies win multiple AISC and National Steel Bridge Alliance Awards for New Tappan Zee and Vine Street Bridges

The American Institute of Steel Construction and the National Steel Bridge Alliance are proud to announce the winners of the 2020 Prize Bridge Awards.

All of the 2020 Prize Bridge Award winners have made an enormous impact on the lives of the people they serve–some in particularly dramatic ways. The Pfeiffer Canyon Bridge reconnected a California community after a landslide damaged a concrete bridge beyond repair (so much so that groceries and fuel had to be brought in by helicopter!).

PSFCA Announces 2020 Big 33 PA Team Roster and Schedule.

The high school football players that will represent Pennsylvania in the 2020 Big 33 Football Classic have been revealed.

The star-studded roster features some of the best high school players from around the state, including student-athletes from Central PA schools such as Central Dauhpin, Harrisburg High School,Cocalico and Hempfield area.

Pennsylvania’s roster also features a familiar name in running back Ali Barkley, younger brother of Penn State All-American Saquon Barkley.
