In time for June Dairy Month, The Pennsylvania Dairymen’s Association is taking its mobile milkshake truck on the road.
Its famous Farm Show milkshakes will be available for sale at select Weis Market stores throughout the state to raise awareness about Fill a Glass With Hope, a fresh milk program for families in need. The first event is underway today at Weis in Hampden Township, where milkshakes will be sold outdoors until 4 p.m.
During a kickoff ceremony and milkshake toast this morning, Sunbury-based Weis Markets announced a campaign to raise $50,000 for Fill a Glass with Hope and a $10,000 donation of fresh milk to the Pennsylvania Food Bank.
To meet the goal, Weis will be asking shoppers across the state to round up their grocery payments at checkout counters in June as a donation toward the fight against hunger. The chain is also hosting the milkshake popup events.
