It took 14 months of construction and $22 million, but what was an abandoned bypass is almost ready to go.
“This is not the old Goat Path Project. This is very different,” Tony Seitz of High Associates said.
The Walnut Street extension is a 1.2-mile stretch connecting route 30 with Greenfield Road in East Lampeter Township.
It was initially designed to alleviate congestion.
“I think it’s got great potential to bring more employers and therefore job opportunities for people in the community,” Ralph Hutchinson, East Lampeter Township Manager, said.
Local and state leaders worked with high associates to bring it to reality.
High provided millions in design and permitting work.
